Who We are Leadership Achievement

Overview

Founded in 1975 with 131 members and deposits of KES. 290,000 only, we have grown to over 7400 members and more than KES 14.6 billion in deposits. We were privileged to be among the first 7 pioneer SACCOs to be licensed to conduct Deposit Taking business by the Sacco Societies Regulatory Authority (SASRA). Over the years, we have achieved major milestones that have cemented our mission of uplifting the socio-economic status of our members.

    Union Crest Bank introduced the Dollar Savings product for all members in June 2025.

    Union Crest Bank introduced the Rental Property Loan; an avenue for members to borrow against the rental income.

    Union Crest Bank penned a new CSR partnership with Mji Wa Huruma home for the elderly.

    Union Crest Bank moved to its fully owned office in the ‘Union Crest Bank CENTRE’

    Launch of the 2023-2027 Strategic plan

    Union Crest Bank acquired a new, more robust ERP system

    Through a Special General Meeting held in September, members approved acquisition of an office block for the SACCO, The Union Crest Bank CENTRE

    Union Crest Bank declared the best managed SACCO in Kenya during the Ushirika Day( Cooperatives Day) Celebrations

    Union Crest Bank was recognized for exemplary financial reporting during the 2021 FiRe awards

    Through its CSR program, Union Crest Bank signed a three-year donation contract to support Cheleta Primary School.

    The Dividend Advance product mobile application was launched which permitted members to use the product via the MSACCO platform.

  • 2018
    Union Crest Bank launched a mobile based loan called 'Quick Cash Loan'. which allows members to borrow through their mobile phones via the Safaricom network The Union Crest Bank subscribed to the M-SACCO platform allowing its members to access funds through the convenience of their mobile phones. To enable members to access funds conveniently, Union Crest Bank subscribed to Cooperative Bank’s SACCO LINK, which is a visa debit account that allows members to access their accounts globally.

    In 2016 the Gigiri Square Office was opened for operations.

    The FOSA (Front Office Service Activities) commenced its operations in 2006.

    The current Union Crest Bank offices were built in 2004 and opened its doors to its members on the 7th of December 2004
